We make a start on the Pennine Way on August 29th.  For the first 5 days, from Edale to Malham we'll be based at home.  This will entail using Train (to Edale), car pickups and the use of two cars - so quite a bit of logistics for the first week.

After Malham, we'll be using B & B's and Sherpa Van to move our bags on each day.

Everything's all booked, the GPS waypoints have been plotted out and the daily map sets will be printed out when I've saved up enough money for more HP ink cartridges.

Ian has a copy of Wainwrights Pennine Way Companion, which should ensure he gets a drink when we arrive at the Border Hotel in Kirk Yetholm.

  1. Good pace for the first day. The Old Nags Head photo shows Ian's expectant smile and a stern Peter. Lovely accompanying photos...from the USA...Don
